Being addicted to anime is no crime at all, even though sometimes kids like me get scolded because of watching Anime.. :D
For me, it's like my own magical world which I can do whatever I want and be the heroine. But I guess for others they just want to relieve their stress while others is just to pass the time.
Even so, don't be afraid of what others are gonna tell you but think of what happiness anime is bringing you.
